Here is a tiny insight into life with our 3rd child. He is our "Dennis the Menace". Tyson is a fun loving kid, never a dull moment. When he was 3 we were in Washington State watching the Blue Angels take off from the Boeing museum of Flight. There was quite a crowd that day. After the take off we went inside to get in line and buy tickets to tour the museum. While my mother and I were figuring out details, Tyson was in line with the rest of the fam and spotted the fire alarm (it was right at his eye level and too difficult to resist). He pulled it and the entire museum had to be evacuated, even after I went up to the front desk and admitted it was my child and not really a fire! We didn't even get to take a tour!
Last Christmas at our annual neighborhood bonfire, everyone was visiting and the children were roasting marshmallows and having a great time playing in the snow. Tyson's marshmallow catches on fire and so he is waving it around trying to put the fire out. The flaming marshmallow lands on our neighbor's pants, fortunately our good friend Brian was wearing ski gloves and put it out quickly( all the while he is laughing because it is not his child). Later that night Gary and I were trying to discuss the severity of the situation with Tyson. Didn't he know someone could've been hurt ? He just smiled and we asked him what was funny- Tyson said, "because an adult laughed."
From time to time I will try an add our best Tyson stories. Stay tuned!

Summer
Summer is in full swing! We spent a few days relaxing in Park City(I'm ready to get away again). Kierra and I spent a week at camp-(where it snowed!), we entertained our good friends from Arizona, and immediately after that hosted a Kephart Family reunion over the 4th of July. Garrett has been busy with swim team and tennis. Kierra has been taking art lessons and tennis lessons. Tyson has been busy tormenting his siblings, and Madi is always ready for another playdate.

Tennis Pro
Kierra never ceases to suprise us. She had been taking some pretty casual tennis lessons over the past couple of summers and then in July mentioned that she would like to try out for the highschool tennis team. Either Gary or I took her out to practice every morning and every evening (kierra is not a morning person). She was determined and kept practicing everyday until tryouts. She made it on as a 9th grader and loves it. It has really brought out the competitor in her. During one singles match her opponent tried to fudge the score. She called out 2-7 when it was really 1-7. Kierra told her as much and the other girl continued to argue. Kierra just stood there until her opponent relented. she wasn't going to let her get away with that! Even with the rigorous tennis schedule she managed to maintain her 4.0 gpa and score the highest on the 1st AP test of the year. Kierra's one fault: her incredibly messy room.
Garrett's stunt boarding
Garrett became addicted to the flowrider this summer. Between swim team, a swim pass, and swim lessons we were at the pool at least once a day.
Monorail ride
Gary just told Tyson that he better hang on tight because this ride was going to drop 500ft just around the corner. When the monorail started moving you can bet Tyson was holding on pretty tight.
The rock collection
Tyson is having a great time finding the most unusual rocks on the Deception Pass beach. Unfortunately, when we went to Red Robin later that evening he lost his collection all over the floor of the restaurant.
Do we really have to go?
Tyson is excited about his new backpack. Garrett is not happy about me taking the picture. It's hard to get back into the rountine after the summer.
About Me
- Jackie Williams
- Iam a full time mom. Most days I love it, but on occasion I am ready to pull my hair out! I grew up in Washington State and moved to utah to attend BYU. Gary and I met at BYU and were married in 1993. Gary is from Rupert, Id. We have four children: Kierra, Garrett, Tyson, and Madison. When I am not running children around, running the household, helping with homework, etc.. I love to play tennis. Right now it is my outlet. I love to spend time with my husband and children. Gary and I like to go to the gym in the mornings. He more so than me. I also like to read, play the flute, and scrapbook. Unfortunately, there is never enough time to enjoy everything, but it is good to be busy.
Our First Cruise
Gary and I took our first cruise of the Carribean. Gary and I flew into New Orleans and met up with some of our very good friends. It was one of our favorite vacations. We visited Roatan, Guatemela, Belize, and Cozumel. The Mayan structures and carvings were amazing. By driving inland we were able to get a broader view of these countries. We also took a taxi ride on Roatan that I'll never forget! Seeing the living conditions in these places made me ponder life in America.
Madi's 3rd birthday
Princess for a day! Madi as always enjoyed being the center of attention. We played princess games like pin the kiss on the frog, and princess and the pea.
